Zero Dark Thirty topped the Box Office this past weekend, Jessica Chastain talks about her Golden Globe winning portrayal of Maya, here!

Zero Dark Thirty, the movie about hunting down Osama Bin Laden, was the winner at the Box Office this week with sales of just over 24 million dollars.

Jessica Chastain who just won a Golden Globe award for her portrayal of Maya in the film talked about her character.

“She’s a targeter in the C.I.A. She was recruited right out of school. She’s a rock star. I think they call her a ‘killer’ in the movie. She shows up in Islamabad and immediately is put in a situation where she’s in over her head. She’s wearing a really nice suit and she goes into an interrogation and it’s using a lot of extreme measures of interrogation that she’s not used to. So you immediately then start to see the change in her when she’s thrown off her element. But she’s a fire, man. She believes she has a calling for this, and she doesn’t waste her time with things that will be distractions to her. She doesn’t have a love interest in this movie, and in real life she didn’t. She was focused. She becomes a servant of her work. She loses a some of friends in the almost decade-long journey to find Osama Bin Laden, and it just keeps the fire going within her until she finds the compound and she finds the man himself.
