TEXAS LAUNCHES INDIE MUSIC FESIVAL

With many Texas heavy hitters such as Paul Wall, UGK, Lil’ Flip and Mike Jones finding success in hip hop, the first annual Texas Independent Music Showcase & Industry Conference has been launched.

The event is scheduled to take place throughout the weekend starting Friday April 7 in Austin, TX. This is the same time as the Texas Relays, a major black college affair that features track & filed competition and array or parties and other social events.

The conference will include workshops and discussions led by a variety of record labels, producers, and artists. There will also be $1,000 rap battle and DJ-spin off, and a $500 bikini contest.
