MURDER INC TRIAL FINALLY SLATED TO GET UNDERWAY

After several false starts, Irv and Chris Gotti’s federal money laundering trial is slated to begin with opening arguments on Wednesday November 16th. The brothers, who are free on $1 million bail, could recieve up to twenty years behind bars if they are found guilty of laundering drug money through their label, Murder Inc Records. The label’s roster includes: Ja Rule, Ashanti, Lloyd, and Black Child. |

The Gotti brothers allegedly received start-up cash for the label from reputed drug kingin Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff. But according to the defendants, the label was provided $2 million in start-up cash from Def Jam Records. The prosecution’s list of witnesses includes several former employees of the label including the bookkeeper. |

McGriff, who is currently serving a three year sentence for a weapons conviction, is also facing murder charges for allegedly ordering the hit on apsiring Queens rapper E-Money Bags. McGriff has also been allegedly linked to the 2000 attempt on 50 Cent’s life. |
