JIN LEAVES RUFF RYDERS

Asian battle rapper Jin, who earned a recording contract with the Ruff Ryders after winning BET’s 106 & Park freestyle competition, has parted ways with the label. The rapper will release his new album, Jin Presents: The Emcee’s Properganda, on his own independent label, CraftyPlugz, on October 25th. The first single from the set is “Top 5” featuring Kool Herc.

Jin explained the Ruff Ryders were cool with his decision. He said,

“Well you know it’s actually still cool with them, you know what I’m sayin’? We didn’t end on bad terms. You know it’s just that I had to come to a point where I wanted to do something independent. And then you know they’re supportive of it so that’s cool.”

The rapper released his debut album, The Rest Is History, in 2004.
