ROOTS DRUMMER TEAMS UP WITH COMEDIAN

Missed Dave Chappelle’s surprise block party in Brooklyn last year? The concert will be hitting the big screen on March 3rd and feature a soundtrack for the film.

The Roots drummer, Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson, has been busy mixing audio highlights from the concert for the soundtrack.

“To me, it’s one of the best things that I’ve worked on,” said ?uestlove, who also served as musical director for the surprise bash.

The party featured performances by The Roots, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and recent Grammy winner Kanye West.

Hip-hop group The Fugees, headlined the show which proved to be biggest surprise of the event. The group reunited for the first time a decade after their multi platinum album “The Score.”
