R&B singer Marques Houston released his third solo album, Veteran, on Tuesday, March 20th. The album features songwriting from Bryan Michael Cox, Ne-Yo, Tank, Rufus Blaq and The Underdogs and guest appearances by Shawnna, Mya and Yung Joc. The latest single from the project is “Circle.”

Houston is pleased that he can focus on promoting his new album since his television show, Cuts, was canceled by UPN late last year. The singer explained,

“I’m not gonna say I was happy but I think it was definitely a mutual decision with myself and the network because you know I felt like it was great show, great opportunity and I loved working with everybody there and the network was great. Everybody was great but I think it was time to move on and to really take this album seriously. I didn’t want to do both at the same time anymore. I really wanted to focus on my album and focus on my career. And it was hard doing a show with the last album because I had to juggle my schedule a lot and I had to like try to get off work. I had the whole big thing with the tour issue, trying to go on tour and still shoot the show. It was really, really you know time consuming. It caused me a lot of stress with trying to juggle both careers. With this album, I think it was the right timing for it to get cancelled. I’m not mad or bitter with anybody over there.
