ZZ TOP GIBBONS DISPLAYS CARS AND GUITARS

ZZ Top’s bearded guitarist Billy Gibbons has is collection of guitars and cars on display in the pages of his new book, Billy F. Gibbons: Rock And Roll Gearhead. The book is culled from images culled from the guitarist’s personal archive.

Billy F. Gibbons: Rock And Roll Gearhead is currently in stores through Motorbooks, an MBI Publishing Company, he told us about the fascination with and relationship between cars and guitars.

“This synergistic connection between the two, cars and guitars, and rock and roll music has always been somewhat connected. I don’t know if it’s because Jackie Brenston recorded “Rocket 88″ in 1953 to start this rock and roll thing in a car direction, but having enjoyed the colleciton of both cars and guitars, (the book) seemed like a logical way to share this kind of presentation with rest of the planet as we know it.”

Gibbons is currently out promoting Billy F. Gibbons: Rock And Roll Gearhead, straight from winding down the band’s U.S. tour at the Beacon Theater in New York City.
