WAITRESS SERVED ON DVD

Waitress is available on DVD which includes a tribute to the film’s late director Adrienne Shelly.

Waitress currently available on DVD is a bittersweet release as it marks the final film of director Adrienne Shelly.

Shelly wrote the script about a simple diner waitress played by Keri Russell stuck in a lousy marriage to Jeremy Sisto in a dead-end town who finds solace with her fellow waitress friends and the pies she bakes.

“I wrote Waitress when I was pregnant with my baby Sophie who plays Lulu in the movie actually. It is a love letter to Sophie. I met Adrienne Shelly in the diner in New York and we just sat and talked. We ordered pancakes and sat and talked about the script and told her that I thought it was hilarious and sad.”

The real stars of the movie are the pies which are served piping hot at Joe’s Diner. The cast of Waitress reveal the pies that have it.

“I have never met a pie that I didn’t like. Keri: Personally my favorite is key lime pie. Cheryl: My favorite pie is cherry pie. Adrienne: I like apple pie. I like lemon meringue pie. Nathan: I’ll be into a chocolate mousse. Jeremy: I like cobbler; that’s not really a pie. Andy: Strawberry chocolate oasis pie. Adrienne: I like, did I say apple.”

Waitress serves up extra features including a heartfelt tribute by the cast to Adrienne Shelly.
